Juan Pablo has 15 years’ experience as a Civil Engineer working within pavements design, floor design, construction, research, development and university teaching. He studied at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and has specialized in rational analysis and mechanical responses of slabs resting on the floor.

He is responsible for creating the business model for the company TCPavements, where the concrete pavement TCP technology was patented, developed and commercialized.  Among his responsibilities are: promotion, design, selling and implementation of the product, negotiation with potential agents in emergent markets; and investigation and development of new technologies.

As general manager of TCPavements, he has been in charge of more than 400 design projects of pavement construction with more than 8.000.000 square meters built and has developed the design software Optipave® and Optipave2®.

He is also Executive Director of LTPisos, company that is dedicated to floor slab optimization design and consulting.

Juan Pablo’s success comes thanks to his interest in the study of concrete pavement behavior his constant research for new tools to develop and optimise pavement in the construction industry. This has led him not only to be general manager of TCPavements, but also to be the executive director of LTPisos (spin-off from Litoral Ing.), where he has developed more than 100 floor designs in Chile, Peru, Colombia and USA with more than 1 million of square meters built.

Beyond being general manager and executive director of two companies, Juan Pablo is also professor of Concrete Technology and engineering materials at the Universidad de los Andes, and director of the ISCP (International Society for Concrete Pavements). He regularly participates in two committees dedicated to building and designing concrete pavements, the ACPA (American Concrete Pavement Association) and the ACCT (Chilean association of highways).

He has written more than 15 publications related to TCP® technology, presented at international conferences, and supervised 9 thesis at the Universidad de los Andes and the Universidad de Santiago de Chile.

He has presented TCP® technology to more than 150 companies related to pavement construction in more than 15 countries and has presented in more than 30 seminars and conferences internationally, including TRB, ISCP, ACPA, ASCP, FHWA, EUPAVE, The Ministry of Public Works of Chile, and The Ministry of Housing in Chile, US, Peru, Colombia, Guatemala, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia and China.
